Knauf Australia’s Altona, Matraville, Beenleigh and Bundaberg manufacturing and distribution facilities have recently been formally approved for re-certification to the most current versions of the ISO management system standards for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management.
Knauf Australia’s management system at these plants has now been certified to ISO 9001 for quality management systems, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management systems and ISO 45001 certification for health & safety management systems.
The certification involved an external auditor, SAI Global, and auditing on site. “The auditor independently assessed our organisation against the criteria of the standards,” explained Kathryn Walker, Knauf’s National WHS and Sustainability Manager. “Certification actions are ongoing with regular surveillance audits every year by the independent auditor.”
“Knauf Australia is proud to be the first in the gypsum industry in Australia to achieve a triple certification for our manufacturing operations,” said Managing Director Gavin Burton.
“Being certified to these standards provides our customers with the peace of mind that Knauf Australia provide quality products, minimise harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities and support and promote good Health & Safety practices, in balance with socio-economic needs,” Gavin said.
“We are very proud of the results. These achievements support us in attaining our business goals – in being our customers’ best supplier, in ensuring we all go home safe every day, and that in everything we do we keep the environment and society in mind.”
