Knauf Australia attended the launch of the new Climate Active trademark in the Sydney Opera House on 15 November 2019, and we are proud to be part of this program backed by the Australian government.
The Climate Active brand is a simple yet powerful way for companies to demonstrate to customers and stakeholders that they have a credible and transparent claim of carbon neutrality.
The launch day was hosted by the TV presenter, writer and director Dr Jonica Newby. Speakers included the Hon. Angus Taylor MP, Emma Bombonato (Sydney Opera House) Stephen Moore AM (Napco) and James Carson (Five Founders Beef).
The morning also featured a panel discussion where companies shared the experiences, challenges and advantages of becoming carbon neutral.
Climate Active is a collective initiative for climate action, driven by members and activated by consumers. It is a government backed program that enables businesses, government and the community to take positive climate action on climate change and reduce carbon emissions.
“We are very supportive of the objectives of the Climate Active program and proud to be a founding member of the Climate Active Network,” said Knauf Australia MD Gavin Burton at the launch.
“Climate Active carbon neutral certification makes it easy for the community to identify and choose brands that are taking credible climate action. It is clear that the time to act is now, and by supporting products with the Climate Active stamp, everyone can help to protect the environment.
“At Knauf we are committed to sustainability and always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We have already made changes in the way we do business and as a result we have been able to offer a carbon neutral option for customers since 2015.”
