Knauf Australia has just agreed to a further sponsorship of the My Room “Home For A Cure” project, with Simonds Homes.
“The Home For A Cure” charity home auction raises funds for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, a volunteer led organisation dedicated to raising funds to achieve a 100% cure rate for childhood cancers. It helps fund family support, medical equipment, clinical care, research and clinical trials to patients and families affected by cancer.
Last year Simonds Homes and Satterley’s Botanical estate donated a house and land package located in Mickleham, north of Melbourne. The beautiful family home with 4 bedrooms, 3 living, 2 bathrooms and a double garage is nearing completion and was auctioned in August 2019. The hammer fell on a winning bid of $582 000.
Knauf proudly supported Simonds Homes in the construction of the house by donating products, including MastaShield; WaterShield; SoundShield; 75mm Cove and compounds.
When Simonds approached Knauf for a further sponsorship in the build of the 2020 “Home For A Cure”, we naturally said yes. “The project aligns perfectly with our social responsibility ethos and our company value of ‘menshlichkeit’,” says Gavin Burton, Managing Director of Knauf Australia.
“’Menschlickheit’ is a German word that means that we keep the environment and society in mind with everything we do. By donating our products, we can help to support a project that ultimately takes care of the most vulnerable people in our society.”
Work on the new site within the Satterley Arcadia estate, in Melbourne suburb Officer, will start in May 2020 and is expected to be auctioned in September 2020.
