The 2019 Sustainability Awards have officially opened for entries. This year Knauf Australia is proud to be the sponsor of a brand new award category – the Women In Sustainability award.
It is the 13th year of Architecture & Design running the Sustainability Awards, which means they are now the longest (and most prestigious) built industry sustainability awards in the country.
This year there will be 17 categories in total, with 11 in the project section and another six in the People and Product sections.
“We are passionate about promoting diversity and we were excited about the fact that this is a new category,” said Knauf National Work Health & Safety and Sustainability Manager Kathryn Walker.
“We have a strong female presence at Knauf and there are many women working in sustainability in the industry as a whole. This category not only resonates with our values as a company, but we want to be involved in an award that will make people aware of what is possible in sustainability, that will raise awareness and will recognise people doing great things,” she said.
“Knauf is already offering an opt-in carbon offset program certified to the Government’s National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS), and our sponsorship of the Sustainability Awards is a further indication of our commitment to sustainable business practices,” added Knauf Marketing Manager Stephanie Olsen.
Winners of the covetous Sustainability Awards will be announced at a gala event on Thursday, 7 November at the Star in Sydney.
The well-known architect and built industry titan Tone Wheeler will be hosting the awards night.
