Every employee, business unit and manufacturing facility in the Knauf Group base its business actions on four company values: Partnership, commitment, entrepreneurship and ‘menschlichkeit’.
The Knauf Group, founded in Germany in 1932, has grown to a multinational company that spans 130 countries. More than 34,000 employees are now part of the family business.
Today we might sometimes be far apart geographically, but Knauf’s four company values guide our business actions and everything we do. The values were re-worded in 2012 and they act as a simple but powerful inner compass for the entire Group.

For those not familiar with the German language, ‘menschlichkeit’ might be a bit of a tongue twister.
Roughly translated it means ‘humanity’, but the translation doesn’t quite capture what ‘menschlichkeit’ is all about. The term refers to what it means to be part of one big family, and it relates to ourselves, our clients and everybody else involved in our actions. It stands for justice, integrity and respect when dealing with each other.
‘Menschlichkeit’ goes beyond the ‘mensch’ (the human) – it extends to the environment and the Knauf Group’s social commitment to keep the environment and society in mind with everything we do.
Our value of partnership refers to teamwork. It stands for the trust we have in each other and to the loyalty that lies at the heart of how we work together towards a common vision.
The value of commitment refers to how we take responsibility for our work and our decisions. We are fully committed to providing solutions and products of the highest quality and to continue developing our joint success.
In the same pioneering spirit displayed by the Knauf brothers back in 1932, we value innovation and a readiness to accept change to create continuous growth. This company value is an indication of our pragmatic approach and a key pillar of our success.
