At Knauf we understand that our clients’ projects are as unique as they are and that they sometimes need a tailor-made solution for an unusual challenge. That’s why we created the Knauf System Maker – a handy feature of our K-Spec tool.
K-Spec has been developed in-house by our team of technical specialists and provides access to two handy features: System Selector and System Maker.
- System Selector is a user-friendly selection tool that allows users to choose the perfect Knauf system for their project with the click of a button.
There are more than 900,000 existing systems on our books, and it doesn’t happen often that System Selector cannot offer a project specific solution. When it does happen, System Maker is there to create one.
- System Maker is on hand to take over from System Selector when no existing solution is available. System Maker provides you with the freedom to create your own system, or modify an existing Knauf system according to your needs. Users can register for System Maker after successfully registering for K-Spec first.
Shailesh Koirala, Knauf’s Digital Engineering Manager and Senior Technical Services Engineer, explains that there are several possible scenarios where a specifier might require a unique solution.
“They might have to add a column in an intertenancy wall or add a sheet metal lining in a wall for security reasons. In such situations, System Maker will allow them to address the project specific need by modifying an existing system or even designing a new one without losing any of the performance properties,” Shailesh said.
Another great feature of System Maker is that it offers users instant peace of mind of knowing whether the modified or newly created system has the necessary system certifications.
It is also possible to request Knauf’s experienced team of engineers to review the system by simply clicking the “Request a review” button in the K-Spec project.
On top of that users can rest assured that the final system is covered by the unique Knauf Warranty when the system is installed in accordance to our recommendations and using our products.
K-Spec also makes it possible to convert any wall or ceiling system, whether it is an existing Knauf system or a modified or newly created one, into Revit models. Read more about it here.
Shailesh says users can benefit from K-Spec’s System Maker by simply registering for it online, free of charge. “Users basically need any modern browser to access it. It can be accessed anytime and anywhere and on any device, and it doesn’t require any software installation.”
K-Spec’s System Maker is a unique solution. “I am not aware of a similar tool in the drywall industry here in Australia, or overseas,” says Shailesh.
